I will do a better job in the future! :) We launched a kickstarter campaign just 6 weeks ago, to fund our next album, and I am so happy to announce, it was a SUCCESS!! Our minimum goal to reach was $4,400, and we actually surpassed that, and ended up raising $5,000! Thanks to a late run of pledges in the final two days, we were able to make this a success, thanks to YOU. I can not thank you enough, the fans and supporters of this project, for your awesomeness! We will now be able to produce this album we are working on , and get it out by the late summer/early fall, if all goes well. We had a session on March 2, where we tracked 4 new tunes with the band, and that went well- now the next phase is to start mixing those, and add a couple of tracks to them that we weren't able ( timbales mainly). And a new session is now being planned to record 3 more tunes. I am really excited about this album, and the direction the project is headed. The new record will fuse together the afro-cuban jazz and salsa dura , as we recorded on "Road Warrior" with the sounds of the New Orleans brass band tradition.. We will be adding tuba into the horn section, and combining the sounds of a new orleans street brass band with a latin jazz/ salsa descarga. I will be posting samples of the tracks as they evolve, so that you can get an idea of how the new album will sound. Check back for updates on this exciting project!
