Another new review of La Clave del Gumbo, PLUS news of a "Best of 2014" list!

So , two things to share today. First, we were featured as "Album of the Week" for the excellent latin jazz blog/website: Latin Jazz Net, by Raul Da Gama, who wrote an amazing review of La Clave del Gumbo. It is available on the Press page, check it out!

Second, I was surfing online last night and realized that we had been named to a "Best of 2014" list by Magnet Magazine, in December. They selected "La Clave del Gumbo" as #3 in the World Music category.  What a cool surprise to come across! Also available on the press page.

Also, I am happy to announce we will be performing on sept 26, on the latin jazz stage at the Redwood City Salsa Festival!

new review of La Clave del Gumbo!

Nice review from Improvijazzation nation :

Jamie Dubberly & Orquesta Dharma – LA CLAVE DEL GUMBO:  Totally cool Latin-oriented trombone-led jazz from California… the splendid opener, “Jazzy“, establishes the lively tone for the rest of the nine-song extravaganza.  The 6:30 version of Marvin’s “Don’t You Worry ‘Bout A Thing” is among the best I’ve heard (yet) in 2015 & the vocal is totally killer!  The groove on “West Side Strut” swings just as you might expect it to, & will have you up & dancin’ ’round th’ room in no time.  It’s (most) strongly recommended that you listen to this with headphones for the first sitting (unless you have a house where you can set your amp to FULL TILT – then listen to it that way).  The superb percussion on “Soul Provider” made it my personal favorite, as well as the “party spirit” the group projects.  I give Jamie & his (rather extensive) crew a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) rating of 4.98 for this one.

Radio News: La Clave del Gumbo" has gone international!

I am thrilled to announce that our album "La Clave del Gumbo" has been selected to appear on some very high profile jazz radio USA networks, including the nationally syndicated "Jazz after Hours" show,  the "Real Jazz" channel on the Sirius/XM satellite radio network, and the entire Georgia Public radio network! Currently the album is being played on over 100 stations nationwide, and has appeared on the CMJ Jazz Charts, and is currently "chartbound" on the the "Jazz Week" charts. In addition, the National Public Radio show- "Fresh Air" has expressed interest in the album, so if you tune into NPR , you may hear it there as well. We will keep this blog current, so any news about that will be here!

Also, the album is being aired in a number of countries outside the US, including Canada, Australia, South Africa, and Colombia! We are so excited at this news , and hope to continue to bring this music to the international music community!!
